FAQ
Q: What is the difference between an MRI and a CT Scan?
A: CT (computerized tomography) uses X-rays, a type of ionizing radiation, to acquire its images, making it a good tool for examining tissue composed of denser tissue, such as bone and calcifications (calcium based) within the body (carbon based flesh) or of structures (vessels, bowel).
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a painless, noninvasive procedure that does not use ionizing radiation (x-ray). Instead, MRI combines computer technology with a strong magnetic field and radio waves to create multiple pictures of the inside of the body.
