Gustavo Espinosa, M.D.

Dr. Espinosa received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1960 from Saint Joseph College. He then attended medical school at Pontificia Universidad Xaveriana in Bogota, Columbia, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1968. He completed his internship at Hospital Militar in Columbia in 1968. He then completed a compulsory year of General Practice in Antioquia, Columbia. He completed his residency at Doctor’s Hospital in Washington, D.C. in Internal Medicine and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL in Radiology.
Dr. Espinosa was the Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Thorek Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois from 1994-2001. He has been the Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Freeport Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL from 2001-present. Dr. Espinosa has also attained the rank of Colonel MC in the United States Air Reserves and was the Chief of the Professional Services and Radiology Department for the 801st Combat Support Hospital in Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
Dr. Espinosa has been a professor for over 25 years with the University of Illinois, where he has received numerous awards. He is a Board Certified Radiologist with additional training in interventional and cardiac work. Dr. Espinosa has been published in numerous journals and papers and conducted many presentations. He is also a Fellow with the American College of Radiology and a Diplomate with the American Board of Forensic Experts.
