Service - Service is top priority for Summit Radiology. We realize we have two customers, the patients and the referring physicians. We strive to make the diagnostic imaging process easy for both!

Patients - We will accommodate your schedule – often we can schedule you the same or next day it’s ordered. Our location is convenient – park in front and walk right in! We’ll contact your insurance provider so you’ll know what to expect. We have a quick and easy registration process. Patient forms can be printed off this site, filled out at home and returned at your appointment.

Physicians – Reports will be returned within 24 hours or less. Our radiologists will call your office for a verbal read on all STAT patients and the written report will be faxed within 4 hours. We will pick up past films from hospitals or other imaging sites and deliver Summit films to your office. Summit will also call to schedule the patients and we will obtain insurance pre-certification.


Insurance - If Summit is not in-network with your insurance you will not be penalized. We accept all insurances, accept your in-network out of pocket and accept the payment from your carrier. You will not be responsible for the difference. We will call your insurance company before your appointment so you know exactly what you’ll owe, if any, before you are tested.


Global Billing – At Summit Radiology, you will never receive more than one bill. In other words, no surprises. An MRI or CT exam are broken into two components: 1. The “technical” portion which is the facility fee for conducting the exam 2. The “professional” fee which is the physician fee to read the exam. Many facilities bill these items separately which causes confusion and higher charges.


Cost - Due to our lower overhead, we can pass cost savings to the patient. Our fees are competitive, if not lower than other imaging facilities in the region. We offer affordable options for patients without health insurance. Those with health insurance can utilize Summit whether we’re in-network or not. Summit will accept all insurances and not charge for any out-of-network costs.


Non-clinical – The first thing you will notice upon entering the facility is the warm and inviting atmosphere. From dimmer switches to paint choices we took great care in selecting design features to sooth and comfort our patients.


Open, comfortable equipment
MRI - The Siemens Espree 1.5T Hybrid MRI is the only one of it’s kind in the area. This magnet was chosen for the advanced imaging technology, 70cm bore, as well as the 550lb table limit. This means an open, comfortable environment for our patients and high quality images for our physicians. This MRI is only 3’ 10” wide and has a 2 1/2 foot opening so many scans are conducted with the patient’s head outside of the magnet reducing anxiety for patients with claustrophobic tendencies.

CT - Our CT is a Somotom 16 slice with the latest technology, including advanced 3D imaging capabilities, lower radiation dosage and a shortened scan time.


Quality
Equipment - All of our equipment were hand chosen as to fit the needs of the Rockford community. We have room to expand and bring in more modalities, which will happen as we find out what else is needed to best serve our patients and physicians.

Subspecialist Reads - On staff are numerous fellowship trained radiologists with subspecialty experience in MR and CT interpretations.
